Help Raise School Supplies For The Children Of Haiti

Published on

In 2015, five inspirational Haitians living in New York City came together to form EducNation Foundation, a non-profit organization that contributes to the social development of young children in Haiti.

Angie D Francis, Fatton Steve Francis, Wilson Francois, Elie Jerome, and Alexa Zevallos moved to America when they were young but they never let go of their close ties with Haiti. Heartbroken by the effects of multiple natural disasters throughout the last 10 years, they decided they wanted to give back to their country. “The Children in Haiti have suffered tremendous losses due to earthquakes, storms, and hurricanes. They are in great danger and many resources for them have been destroyed. In the 21st century, no child should be left behind,” says Fatton Steve Francis, Co-founder of EducNation Foundation and Project Engineer at Adler Windows.

They set up EducNation Foundation with the mission to educate for a better tomorrow. The organization set out with a mission to build new schools and ensure every child receives an education by conducting training seminars, conferences and sponsoring the youth throughout their academic training.  “Every year we conduct three programs, a Toy Drive in December, a Scholarship Program in March and our Back To School 1000 initiative in August. After each program, my team travels back to Haiti where we have five permanent teachers and carers.”

This year marks the second Back To School 1000 initiative, which aims to raise enough school supplies for 1,000 kids. The goal is to have every child receive 1 school bag that contains notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, binders etc. Big or small your contribution will make a huge difference. If you would like to donate please send school supplies to any of the following locations by August 10th 2017.
The Loft on H – 3407 Avenue H, Brooklyn, NY 11210
