460-460 Amsterdam Avenue
New York, NY, USA
Adler Windows was brought onto the renovation team of 460-462 Amsterdam Avenue by Andrew L Pettit Architects. Pettit’s office had been approached by the building’s owners regarding requirements by the Department of Buildings and the Landmarks Commission that the windows had reached the end of their useful life.
It was determined that the costs for repairs would be more expensive than a complete window replacement and the results would leave the building with severe heat loss and air infiltration as well as poor sound attenuation. Replacing the windows would meet energy code requirements along with many other code issues.
We assisted Andrew L Pettit Architects in choosing the perfect type & style within budget and within the LPC requirements. Our team supplied and installed the Marvin Windows and Doors clad aluminum double hung window units. Within 12 weeks the building was completed with new double glazed, efficient, easily operating windows.
“The building seems to have actually gained a glow of newfound importance, pride, and self-assuredness if that’s possible for a building. It stands proud and renewed at the corner of Amsterdam and 81nd Street.” – Andrew L Pettit, Andrew L Pettit Architects
