150 Wooster Street
New York, NY 10012
As seen in recent site photos, installation of the new, luxury retail and residential, two-lot building at 150 Wooster street—is nearing completion in anticipation of the project’s targeted 2017 Fall/Winter deadline.
While the installation of the building’s steel windows is now in its final stages—extending up the building’s exterior to its top floors—construction of the building’s ground level and the retail space continues to take shape.
Located in the heart of Soho between Prince and Houston in the neighborhood’s Cast Iron Historic District, 150 Wooster is comprised of two 5,000 square foot retail stores, and just six expansive condominium residences starting at approximately 4,270 square feet. The Adler team supplied and installed more than 100 Optimum Steel Window and Door units throughout the 8-story building. The City’s Landmark Preservation Commission (LPC) were concerned with the buildings original proposal due to the windows and the way the cornice connects with the base. To meet LPC concerns the cornice was brought to the streetwall and given new detailing. And the base, which is painted steel, was reconfigured to align with it. That reconfiguration includes a bolder central entrance for the residents.
“I’m a big fan of this building,” said Commissioner Frederick Bland on discussing 150 Wooster’s changed where he added that the design, which he liked to begin with, was “improved.”
Adler Windows are delighted to be working with KUB Capital and HTO Architects on this prestigious project.
