This summer, Nicole Greene of Ridgefield High, joined our Manhattan office for 6 weeks to Intern in our Sales, Estimating and Marketing Departments. Before she heads off on an exciting journey to Georgia Tech, we learned about what inspires her on a daily basis and her goals for the future….
Nicole Greene, 18, Intern – Adler Windows Manhattan Office
Where do you live?
What high school did you attend?
I am currently a senior at Ridgefield High School, I graduate in a few weeks and then I will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall.
What do you hope to study at Georgia Tech?
I hope to study engineering, math, and either business or marketing.
What inspired you to choose this career path?
I have always enjoyed maths and science, and I know there are many job options for majors relating to math and engineering. I also think it is important to study business in order to understand the other side of technology companies.
Where do you hope to be in five years’ time?
In five years’ time, I hope to be graduated from college and working for a major technology company in the Silicon Valley.
What inspires you on a daily basis?
My future goals inspire me.
What are your favorite productivity hacks?
I try to plan out my work so that I am focused working on one thing at a time, rather than trying to work get multiple things done at once.
What kind of tasks do you do daily at Adler Windows?
A normal day for me at Adler Windows involves researching current and upcoming trends within the industry, keeping tolls on the latest industry news, locating and organizing images for an upcoming marketing project, creating content, and updating the companies CRM database. I have also helped out with numerous projects and tasks around the office such as event prep, labeling glass samples and managing the Adler Windows Instagram account – go follow us @adlerwindows 🙂 .
What have you learned so far from your internship?
During my internship, I have learned a lot about windows and the construction industry, as well as the New York real estate market. I have learned a lot about what it is like to work in an office environment. I also became familiar with different software such as WordPress, iMovie, SugarCRM, and Infusionsoft.
What aspect of your internship have you enjoyed the most?
I have enjoyed being in the city and having the opportunity to experience being in a real working environment.
And to wrap up – tell us what you enjoyed the most and the least about working in the New York City?
My favorite aspect of working in the city is being around so many different types of people. My least favorite aspect is the commute.
