Description:

This presentation will cover the reasoning behind energy codes and the code adoption process, as well as code differences in the various climate regions of North America. Marty Biskup of AGC Glass will discuss code compliance tools and methodology, and designing with glass to meet the requirements for energy efficient buildings.

As a result of this program, the participants will gain first-hand knowledge of:

  • Evaluating energy code requirements for the various climate zones in North America

• Examine the human factors benefits with electrochromics.

• Explain how electrochromic systems can be controlled to meet energy performance and user needs.

• Understand the key aspects of zoning with electrochromics and how zoning can be used to optimize the tradeoffs of glare, daylight admission, energy performance and light color quality.
